How to Get the Most out of Your Rubber Flooring
A common mistake many customer make in shopping for rubber flooring is assuming that all rubber flooring is the same.
The simple fact is; this is not true. In the same manner you would not say that a Firestone Tire is the same quality as a Michelin tire.
The truth is, rubber flooring density varies by a large margin among manufacturers; some catering and taking advantage of the customer who shops by price alone.
In a typical 3/8" rubber floor, the density can vary from 1.5 lbs - 2.3 lbs / per sq. ft. That is a potential difference of 53% !
What does density have to do with rubber flooring durability?
Imagine your rubber floor is 3/8" thick not matter what you fill it up with. The high density rubber floors pack a lot of material into the same 3/8" space; whereas a low density rubber floor packs less material and filler into the same space. The result is the less dense floor is much cheaper to produce; but wears out faster and is more porous on the surface.
How Do I Avoid Getting a Poorly Made Rubber Floor?
Buying from a trust name like Kodiak Flooring doesn't hurt. Pro Sports Floors passes the 5 year mfg warranty onto you. If your deal sounds to good to be true...it probably is.
